Back\u00a0when I first started, I knew very little about how websites worked.\u00a0The\u00a0fact\u00a0that\u00a0I\u00a0could control so much of my\u00a0web presence right out of the box\u00a0was impressive.\u00a0In\u00a0hindsight,\u00a0I attribute the majority\u00a0of my\u00a0technical background from learning WordPress\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0early\u00a0years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0big\u00a0hurdle\u00a0facing WordPress today?<\/strong> One\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0biggest\u00a0challenges\u00a0is\u00a0there are still so many\u00a0people who don&#8217;t know how websites work.\u00a0That\u00a0holds\u00a0many\u00a0customers\u00a0back, and WordPress\u00a0ends\u00a0up being their guinea pig. Because\u00a0of\u00a0this,\u00a0people\u00a0leave the platform\u00a0for\u00a0reasons\u00a0beyond WordPress&#8217;s\u00a0control. The platform\u00a0is\u00a0trying\u00a0to\u00a0accommodate beginners\u00a0and establishing itself as\u00a0an enterprise solution.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How\u00a0would\u00a0you\u00a0describe the relationship between Bluehost\u00a0and WordPress?<\/strong> Bluehost\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0great\u00a0platform\u00a0for\u00a0WordPress\u00a0users\u00a0to grow with because we have spent the last decade\u00a0building\u00a0tools\u00a0that help WordPress\u00a0websites\u00a0succeed. Very\u00a0few companies\u00a0have the volume\u00a0of\u00a0WordPress\u00a0customers\u00a0that we do and even fewer\u00a0understand what it takes\u00a0to support them.\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0impressed\u00a0as a customer\u00a0long before working here \u2014\u00a0and now I&#8217;m even more impressed\u00a0\u2014\u00a0by\u00a0how\u00a0much the employees\u00a0care about the WordPress\u00a0community. A\u00a0lot\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0said\u00a0about\u00a0the unique nature of\u00a0WordCamps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What, in your opinion, makes\u00a0this\u00a0community\u00a0noteworthy?<\/strong> In\u00a0the\u00a0seven\u00a0years\u00a0I\u00a0have been involved in WordCamps, I have not seen another community\u00a0or conference\u00a0where\u00a0people are so devoted to the vision and cause. People travel all around the world\u00a0on\u00a0their\u00a0own\u00a0dime\u00a0to attend these WordCamps, and they\u00a0do it frequently. It&#8217;s\u00a0not a conference\u00a0that\u00a0is\u00a0attended once a year. I&#8217;m\u00a0amazed by\u00a0the commitment of so many\u00a0to attend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u00a0upcoming\u00a0WordPress changes are you most\u00a0looking forward to?<\/strong> I\u00a0am\u00a0really\u00a0excited\u00a0to\u00a0see\u00a0where the investment in Javascript and front end developers\u00a0leads\u00a0the project.\u00a0I\u00a0think\u00a0bringing\u00a0more Javascript talent into the community\u00a0will provide some fresh perspective\u00a0on\u00a0the\u00a0experience and, hopefully, help new users\u00a0interact with the framework\u00a0better. Obviously,\u00a0that\u00a0goes\u00a0hand in hand with the rest API, which I&#8217;m\u00a0equally\u00a0excited about.
