A lot of people told me that if I wanted to make money and monetize, it would make more sense to switch over to WordPress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alisha\u2019s been using WordPress for over two years. She loves being involved in the WordPress community, as well as the free resources, tools, tech support and plugins. Alisha\u2019s constantly challenging herself to learn new tricks and best practices. \u201cThere\u2019s still plenty of stuff where I\u2019m like, oh, I didn\u2019t know it did that!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the beauty of WordPress, just like wine, it only gets better with age.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, learning the basics of WordPress has allowed Alisha the opportunity to start a home business in addition to her blog, selling custom jewelry through <a href=\"http:\/\/alisha.origamiowl.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b><i>Origami Owl<\/i><\/b><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have done that otherwise and it\u2019s where all the traffic to my site comes in,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>For new users, Alisha recommends the following plugins:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/nofollow\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>NoFollow<\/b><\/a>. This plugin provides fine-grained control of linking for SEO purposes, containing a package of tools to increase your control of the rel=&#8221;nofollow&#8221; tag on every link on your blog.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/jetpack\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>JetPack<\/b><\/a>. Jetpack is a WordPress plugin that supercharges your self-hosted WordPress site with the awesome cloud power of WordPress.com.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/seo-blogger-to-wordpress-301-redirector\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Blogger to WordPress Redirector<\/b><\/a>. \u00a0This plugin will 301 redirect all incoming traffic from your Blogger account to your newly set-up WordPress account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/broken-link-checker\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Broken Link Checker<\/b><\/a>. This plugin will monitor your blog looking for broken links and let you know if any are found.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/google-analytics-for-wordpress\/\" target=\"_blank\"><b>Google Analytics<\/b><\/a>.
